This week
started with a visit to one of the World Heritages Sites 30 kilometers south of Seoul.
On Sunday we took the opportunity to
visit the Suwon Fortress, something I’d planned to do for quite some time. We had
traveled for more than an hour on the subway when we arrived at the city Suwon.
My darling Anders knew exactly where to go…… go……and…..go! We walked for 40 minutes in 34 degrees Celsius (93,2 Fahrenheit) and well there we walked the walls for an hour.

Hwaseong Fortress is the wall surrounding the centre of Suwon, the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do. The fortress was built from 1794 to 1796 by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty to house and honor the remains of his father Prince Sado, who had been murdered by being locked alive inside a rice chest by his own father King Yeongjo after failing to obey the command to commit suicide.
But the construction of the fortress was also a response to the collapse of the Korean front line during the Imijn war.
View inside the wall
Anders giving friendship handshake to a Korean man that passed by, sat down and talked to him! What about? According to Anders about the fact how wonderful he is :)
We both lost a lot of liquids and filled it with some beers and returned to the subway in a taxi :).
The rest of the week I spend a lot with my friend Selina who will be returning to the States on Tuesday, had some Pilates and went to Namdaemun market to say goodbye to my favorite vendors, and had a farewell luncheon hosted by General Kwan. It surely starts to feel we’re on our way back to Sweden…… and it feels bitter sweet!
Out and about Express Buss Terminal with Tina and Gunilla. But first a short stop for a Korean luncheon, sitting 'comforably' on the floor :)
And last Thuersday it was time to say goodbye to my favorite vendors at Namdaemun market..................
My weekly meetings with my favorite flower vendor has come to an end!
And the week ended with a Hail
& Farewell luncheon hosted by General Kwan, Deputy Commander Combined
Forces Command and his wife.
Bill and Selina Maquilkin soon on their way back to Washington DC.
I surely will miss you Selina! But we'll meet again!
