38th parallel: An unexpected hiking tour!

Taking the time to show Anders around in Gangnam and Anders taking me to? Yes where?

I planned to show Anders Dosan park and the Hermes shop but mostly the different and fabulous museum. We found the way to my part of town but to find the mountain with the small shops and restaurants was another story. We took the subway to the palace were Anders thought the distance to the picturesque quarters wasn’t too far. Walked for hours in the heat and saw areas we know slightly but were not leading to our goal….. We’ve to give it a new trial next weekend, but then I will have my gymnastic shoes on, just in case ……

But first a quick stop at the Hermes Museum

An Chang-ho, or Ahn Chang-ho (Hangul :안창호, November 9, 1878 - March 10, 1938) was a Korean independence activist and one of the early leaders of the Korean-American immigrant community in the United States. He is also referred to as his pen name Dosan. He established the Shinminhoe (New Korea Society) when he returned to Korea from the US in 1907. It was the most important organization to fight the Japanese occupation of Korea. He established the Young Korean Academy (흥사단; 興士團) in San Francisco in 1913 and was a key member in the founding of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai in 1919. Ahn is one of two men believed to have written the lyrics of the Aegukga, the South Korean national anthem. Besides his work for the Independence Movement, Dosan wanted to reform the Korean people's character and the entire social system of Korea. Educational reform and modernizing schools were two key efforts of Dosan.

After a wonderful Monday with Swedish women I went with Gunilla and Annelie to my favorite Korean Restaurant, close to Namyeong station were we had fabulous Bulgogi!
